Legal Wedding for Chinese Citizens in Bali. Is a Bali wedding for Chinese possible?. Bali is becoming a favourite destination wedding for Chinese; many Chinese citizens get married in Bali, either with an Indonesian or another Chinese citizen. Some wedding chapels are a favourite venue for Chinese wedding couples, such as Blue Point and Blue Heaven wedding chapels. So that they can get married legally in Bali, the Chinese wedding couple must fulfil all paperwork required by the Bali Registry Office, such as :
- Copy passport
- Certificate of Non-Impediment of Marriage
- Copy birth Certificate
- Fill the wedding application Form
- Shoulder photo to be put on your marriage certificate
- Two witnesses and their copies of passports
What is a Letter of Non-Impediment
A letter of non impediment is a letter issued by the Registry Office or Notary's office and thus must be legalised by the Embassy or consulate office based in Indonesia. Each country has their own rule on issuing a certificate of Non-impediment.
After Marriage
So that the marriage certificate can be accepted in China, your marriage certificate issued by the Bali Registry Office needs to be legalised by the Indonesian Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Judicial Affairs, the Chinese Embassy, and the certificate needs to be translated by a sworn translator as well. Bali Shuka Wedding can assist this process with an additional cost on top of the wedding package offered.
Non-Legal Wedding in Bali
If you just want a wedding commitment, it can also be arranged, and no further paperwork is required, but this kind of wedding has no legal binding.
